I just wanted to talk about Wyatt Wendels.
To say his efforts on his bike ride in aid of Mind are anything short of heroic would be an understatement of biblical proportions.
It has been a huge pleasure working with him and Planet Rock to put together the charity single ‘You’re The Voice’, but really all of the support should go towards Wyatt and his unbelievable determined, staggering 2000 mile bike ride in aid of the charity.
Let’s just think about that for a moment.
2000 miles.
It’s Winter.
Whenever anyone does this sort of thing I am always in total awe, I’m certainly not brave enough, It is really easy to sit and watch it through a screen and praise and support but it’s an entirely other thing being determinedly brave enough to get out there especially at this time of the year and cycle through all weathers to try and bring some comfort to those in real need, this is the legacy that Wyatt will leave behind.
It’s not just about the money, it’s about the heart and dedication and the very human desire to help others. In these trying times where empathy and kindness are in short supply, Wyatt demonstrates what’s possible when we think of others first, and put good thoughts into action.
The man had the heart of an ox.
Incredible. Really.
So I hope you’ll join me in celebrating and supporting this monumental effort by buying the single and, if you can, looking out for him as his journey continues – I KNOW he’ll massively appreciate it – and also heaping all the praise you can, wherever you can as he thoroughly deserves it for doing this incredible task.
