DAY 7

Little Angels 1994. What happened?...

After the split of Little Angels in the late summer of 1994, I took some time out to figure out what to do.
Not easy.

I had spent the previous eight years focused on nothing else but the band and its career, doggedly determined to take us as far as humanly possible. To a certain degree, it worked. Despite a lack of interest from North America, Little Angels managed to gather a huge and exceptionally loyal fan base from all over the world, keeping us in the charts and filling concert halls.

To have this extraordinary situation come to such a resounding end was hard to take, but it was even harder to work out how to move forward.

Around the beginning of 1995, I began to consider the idea of creating new music. I had several ideas left over from the last Little Angels writing period β€” some of which had already shown a departure from the band’s sound β€” so I was convinced I could use those songs as the basis for what would ultimately become my first solo album, Ignorance Is Bliss.

In a new conversation with myself, I revisit the Royal Albert Hall show, the very difficult moments that led to Little Angels splitting, and the path that brought me to my debut solo album.
